Single Process Monitor

In this topic, you will learn about, Single Process Monitor.

Single Process Monitor: This is the simplest memory management approach. The memory is divided into two sections contiguous part for the operating system and the second section is for the user program.

In this type of approach, Operating System only keeps the track of the 1st and the last location available for allocation for the user program. A new program Is loaded when the O.S passes control to it. After receiving a control, it starts running until its completion or termination due to input-output or some error. When this program is completed, the Operating System may load another program for execution. This scheme was found in CP/M Operating System.
